There was a description of the project that needed to be done in the requirements document. The questions were very straight forward and related to everything mentioned in their requirements. I was directly called to the office for an interview after I submitted my application. There were 2 interviewers there. One was an older lady while the other was a younger one. They were both very courteous and professional. They asked me about my background and the courses/technologies/projects(all 3) that I had listed on my resume. Then they asked me if I was comfortable with R programming. I was honest and told them that I don't know it yet but I can learn it quickly since I have a background in data mining with SAS. (They had mentioned in their job requirements that knowledge of R is preferred) They then asked me about how I would proceed to develop the application which was required to be developed. I explained my strategy as I had thought about it before the interview. I tried to come up with a rough design of the application and explained to them what I had in mind and how I would go about starting and completing the project. I had developed Android apps before so I talked about building the app and connecting it to the required dataset. (The project needed building an Android app) At the end, they asked me about my availability for the next 3-4 months and whether I lived in Pittsburgh or not.
