Applied online, hiring manager was excited to meet right after HR screen. They were excited about my experience in statistical modeling and algo development. HR person called me back as she forgot to ask me about level of compensation I expect. After I specified the range (120-130K a year which is what I got with several offers received as the result of that job search) she told that absolute maximum for this position is 110K and the kind of money I am talking about in "individual contributor" role they only pay to SWE people. She cancelled further communications. All in all, experience allowed me to conclude that this company treats scientists (the very people who generate value in biotech industry) as simple commodity.
