The interview itself was fairly standard, but I found it very odd that, for a comms job representing a union, I was given a 3-hour assignment to do immediately following my FIRST interview. While doing an assignment or spec work for an interview is kind of a necessary evil, it is generally accepted as a practice for final candidates - not following a first interview. I did not receive any acknowledgement that my submission had been received and had to follow up for an update on the position. As a job for a labour union, I did not get the sense they value or appreciate candidates' time and effort.
