The interview method was basic; video call, roughly 30-45 minutes. It wasn’t too technical either, they asked standard questions, the type you expect in an initial/first interview. The interview panel were friendly and I felt that I got along with them so it reduced pressure one would feel during an interview. Following my interview for this position, I was put forward for a different, more senior role that I was very keen on. I was explicitly advised I did not have to interview again for the role. I had more than one conversation about joining the company and the last stage was to visit the office in person to meet the team as a formality. Unfortunately, this was poorly arranged as I had no further contact from the date of invitation for a few weeks. When they did get back to me, eventually, I was given extremely short notice. I was even told upon arrival that my CV had not been reviewed (this will be important later). Following the meeting, I was led to believe that all I had to do was accept or decline the offer. I asked for some time to respond, which appeared to be agreed. However, when I came back and confirmed I wanted to continue with the process and move to acceptance ; a) the offer had been rescinded and I was advised that it was due to lack of experience in certain areas which is false according to my CV (which they admitted was not reviewed) and b) they lied about contacting me earlier in the week - no one had tried to follow up or contact me about the role. They backtracked and offered me the original position which I was advised I was “too good” for hence why I was put forward for a more senior role in the first place. I was extremely disappointed with process rather than the outcome. It was a huge waste of time and effort on my end. The process took almost 2 months and nothing came of it. What I experienced was unpleasant but from the employee reviews alone, I think I dodged a bullet.
