Difficult environment for those with Corporate experience: opiniones de empleados con el puesto de IT Project Manager en Rutgers University

After being hired for my specific experience, I learned the hard way that people who have spent their careers in academia do not welcome any hint of those skills or expertise. There was also zero guidance about the touchy environment into which I'd been hired and no direction as to what was expected of me. There was an extreme lack of professionalism on the part of my manager and his peers said that he had to be tolerated. All in all I was sorely disappointed with my experience working in Higher Education and happily rejoined the Corporate work force. It was a learning experience for sure.
