Ventajas
The best benefits I've ever had. Medical and dental are very reasonably priced, even with the recent price increase. Plenty of time off and full tuition coverage that includes advanced degrees! Work hours are also very convenient allowing a great degree of work/life balance
Desventajas
Bureaucracy! I can tell why state employees get such a bad reputation. It's very difficult to get things done. Some people get away with murder and there is no oversight. You can only advance one level at a time, which gives outsiders better opportunities than people that would like to get promoted from within
