Ventajas
Easy to have a family life. Decent schedule. Flexible time. Set your own hours. Can't get fired as easy since there are not many highly qualified/certified individuals in the area.
Desventajas
The local economy is a challenge in this relatively small town so it is feast or famine. This makes gaining work experience a little thin as well. Most clients only want the basics in networking and servers. There is really no pushing the envelope when it comes to new technology. Network administration doesn't really utilize any large networking protocols (RIPv2, OSPF, BGP, SPBV or SPBM). Many jobs are the ones no one else in town wants (too difficult for the average IT shop) so it comes our way through reputation, but it makes some jobs very difficult (suddenly having to pull all-nighters, etc).
