The view is nice. You get to see all the protests and tourists on the Michigan street side and get to daydream looking at planes and boats on the lake side. The dress code is relaxed. Umm.... The pay is ok, i guess. Yeah, that's all i've got.

Desventajas

Health benefits are toooooo high. Teams work in silos. Been here for over a year and barely know the names of all the people in my own department. It very quiet. The only time there is remotely any activity is when a batch of new hires come in (all happy and giddy) or when there is left over food somewhere and everyone gets wind of it. Otherwise its very quiet. Sometimes library quiet. No place to have private calls or conversations (can't do it at your desk because its so quiet and everyone is listening). Lack of conference rooms. The opportunities for advancement some reviews speak of is not very apparent to many people in the company. Many want to leave, but haven't found that next thing yet. Pretty depressing atmosphere.

Ventajas

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Desventajas

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
