Ventajas

Many clients/environments mean that if you're intelligent you will be able to learn many skills and leave with a resume that can get you thousands more elsewhere. Some genuinely great people work there, even if only temporarily. Tom Corley, the head Chef, provides fantastic meals at low prices - if you're fortunate enough to ever be in the office to enjoy them. Niche - they have a strong place in the MSP world regarding healthcare and independent living facilities, meaning that even with the terrible decisions management consistently makes, the company itself should offer relatively stable employment. A great place to work if you're friends with the CIO or already in the "Trinity College Clique." Was a great place a couple technology directors ago, but went downhill VERY fast when that person left.

Desventajas

Terrible atmosphere - CIO knows nothing about technology, has legendary temper tantrums, and makes terrible decisions because of an ego that doesn't allow him to recognize he has ANY faults. Instead of supporting the growth of employees, they like to lead with fear - a "you can't do better than us" attitude. They will do everything they can to stop you from finding better opportunities - from making empty threats with poorly worded non-compete contracts to enacting an actual company policy that makes it an actionable offense to be a reference to a former/current employee... which is a problem because management WILL blackball or punish people and stall their careers and advancement if they deem you an offender. They have their favorites, who are almost never the best/brightest/most deserving in the company, and that clique is who will make EVERY important decision with impunity from their effects. Childish, arrogant, and unlawful - I'm aware of two employees with 8+ years seniority who were treated like garbage until they left on their own as punishment for making a VERY valid complaint over sexist remarks by one of the consulting services directors. Owned by an unethical non-profit "Christian" organization that usurps the money ProviNET brings in and "restructures" every so often to keep Provinet, which is a for-profit organization, "small" enough to stay owned by the non-profit. This involves some creative job titles/situations where some employees may be 100% at ProviNET, but not actually a "ProviNET" employee. I don't know enough about tax code to know if this is illegal, but it's definitely shady and keeps ProviNET employees from ever seeing the salaries they deserve, even if the company itself is doing great. Benefits - Health insurance is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I have worked for 3 other organizations, two of which offered the same provider and service level at 20-30% of the employee contribution cost. Salary - Very low. They will argue that it is on par with others in the area, but rest assured it is not. You will only get substantial raises when they believe you are thinking of leaving (and they deem you valuable enough to pursue keeping) - and even then it is a last resort. If you're lucky, you MAY get a cost of living raise upwards of a whole percent SOME years. I was there many years and was offered an annual bonus about 1/3 of those years. I was always told "don't share that you got a bonus, not everyone gets one," while others were told they "weren't in the budget this year." Current employees - don't believe that nonsense. Christmas "bonus" was routinely a gift certificate for ham (except when even the ham disappeared for a few years) and 50 bucks in an envelope; the organization lives in a bubble and treats these "gifts" the same way an elderly person leaving a bad tip on a bill would - they somehow believe that what may have been a nice bonus in 1985 is still great today.

Ventajas

I've worked for the company for over 10 years and started in a very entry level position, learned a lot of great skills, and moved up through the company. At several junctures in my life, I decided to ask for more responsibility, or to pursue education/new skills that interested me and was given the ability to do so. Things don't always happen quickly, but desires for personal/professional growth are taken seriously and acted upon when feasible. Pay/benefits are competitive (401k, student debt repayment assistance, insurance, PTO, etc.) There are a lot of fun and dedicated personalities on the various teams, with a wide range of experience and skills The company holds a long standing/unique reputation, especially in the senior living IT consulting space as a good company, with its clients best interests at heart, even when it hurts. Client retention and satisfaction seems high. Ability to telecommute and live anywhere in the US. Strong relationships with various affiliations and vendor partnerships that result in a lot of solid "word of mouth" growth.

Desventajas

There are times where growing pains are evident and the company may not always be able to move quickly to address staff desires/challenges, but they don't often go ignored.

Ventajas

Some co-workers are helpful and team players.

Desventajas

No room for growth on service desk, most co-workers do not want to collaborate, everyone on the service desk is over worked and burnt out. Workload is non-stop. Customers will verbally abuse you due to lack of training. Broken promises from leadership. Client is always right. Look elsewhere...
