Ventajas

The pay, benefits and perks are terrific. The company is generous with pay, bonus and the stock purchase plan. The gym and cafeteria are better than most in silicon valley. They give you bagels on Friday and let you play pool and foosball all week. If you're looking for an easy place work and to skate by without really doing anything, try the IT department at NetApp. It's easy to sit back and complain about how busy you are and give the appearance of getting work done. Just make sure that you stay friendly with the directors and managers - it's more important to be liked, than to get anything done.

Desventajas

In the IT group, the turnover is very high. In a few jobs, two or three people rolled through one job in less than a year. Some people got fed up and walked out, other people were walked out by management after only a copy of months on the job. The management team talks about developing people and communications - you gotta' hand it to them, they go the extra mile for a few employees. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the masses The price of the stock isn't going to go up for a very, very long time - look at the return on equity and return on assets; the CFO must be asleep at the wheel.

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Desventajas

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
