Simple skill-based interview process. Basically, all they really ask you to do is type. If you're fast enough enough/they believe that they can train you to be fast enough, then you're in c: Easy scheduling. Within a couple limitations, all you really have to do is let them know how many hours you plan to work on each day, then work for that period of time. Doesn't really matter when you walk in or out of the door, so long as you finish your hours.

Desventajas

Time crediting. You are only paid for the hours that you are logged into the computer, and if you want to take a break there's a 30 minute minimum before the program will let you log back in. Performance-based compensation. Afaik, everyone starts at a flat $7.30 an hour, and /all/ additional pay raises are contingent upon your performance as measured by the speed with which you complete jobs. Furthermore, these pay raises are calculated on a pay period to pay period basis. This means that if you do exceptionally well for two weeks then kinda fall flat, you will only get the bonus pay for the two weeks you did well. Scheduling woes. You can always move hours forward, but backward requires either one week+ notice, a really good reason, or adding extra hours. This issue can be exacerbated if there's a larger than average amount of jobs floating around in the system. Also, there is a 16 hour a week scheduled minimum, and Saturdays and Sundays don't count towards this. Adversarial client/customer relationship. Clients are charged based on how long they take to dictate their message, and scribes are paid based on how quickly they transcribe a message. Clients want to make their message as short and dense as possible, while scribes would be better served by longer and less dense messages.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're glad that you found the job easy and enjoyed flexible scheduling, but we would also like to discuss the complaints you listed. Break policy: Every member of management has the ability to make exceptions to the break policy at their discretion and within reason. We do however encourage taking 30-minute breaks where needed. If we credited time for employees being on the premises and not logged in, that could be extremely costly and would discourage goofing off on the clock. As to letting people log in sooner, again, that would result in a high cost to the company as we would legally have to pay you for any breaks under 30 minutes. Compensation policy: First, I'm pleased to share that the base rate in the Athens office was recently raised to $8.25 an hour. Everyone has the opportunity to make up to $13/hour each pay period based on hitting those Enhanced Pay metrics. While it may seem unfair to not have that rate lock in after first attaining it, it also discourages employees from slacking off and hurting production from a business standpoint. Your suggestion to compensate employees based on quality of work rather than just quantity is a good one. We are currently in the process of implementing recognition and rewards for a job well done that is separate from XF. Scheduling: We have unparalleled scheduling flexibility. Even if you have to submit a request less than a week in advance, as you mentioned, we do allow for emergency situations. Our protocol is that you email the office with an explanation and make up those hours elsewhere in the week (or bring in a doctor's note/other documentation of your emergency). The fact that we only require 16 hours per week, allow you to create and shift those hours around, and are so lenient with schedule changes is hard to beat. Dictations: We routinely do audits on customers with problematic dictations and follow up with them. However, the more tenure and experience you have under your belt as a scribe, the less those difficult calls affect you. Benefits: We do offer benefits packages to employees after a year of working full-time hours. That is standard protocol for most companies. If you are still with the company and have more ideas or issues that you would like to discuss, please feel free to speak with your OM or email the Athens office at athoffice@copytalk.com. Thank you again for your honesty! We are doing all that we can to make improvements to our processes and the working environment across offices so your feedback is extremely valuable to us!

I worked remote like most people at the company so there's advantages to that. You set your own hours more or less and the schedule is really flexible. There were multiple times where I had to and was able to make a schedule change right before I was meant to work, if we weren't that busy. Had kind and personable management. It's easy work as long as you have a good WPM. I stayed as a scribe and never really sought out any opportunities but there are some advancement opportunities and bonuses you could earn. The company gives you equipment and replaces it as needed.

Desventajas

The first few months I worked there were pretty busy, but work has dwindled down quite a bit even as we go into what used to be busy months. You have to be really good at the job in order to get more hours. Having to use a PC and monitor is kind of inconvenient if you don't have a lot of desk space in your home but it's nice that they provide you with equipment.
