Ventajas

A small company therefore has a small company mindset, in that every employee is a name and not a number. Some very nice employees who are genuinely knowledgeable about their jobs; can learn a lot by talking to them.

Desventajas

Long term employees had antiquated mindset with an opposition to change. "What worked 20 years ago still works today" appeared to be the philosophy of the company, from an absence of flexible work schedules, to utilizing outdated IT systems, to excessively supervising employees, to a lack of awareness that regulations are consistently changing. There never seemed to be a legitimate justification as to why the company could not implement updated regulations or ideas. Some employees appeared to circumvent modern ideas and regulations if it meant additional work would be required to implement the ideas and regulations. Newer employees who brought experience and expertise to positions were not fully trusted until they had been employed with the company for an extended period of time. Essentially, apathy reigned.

High caliber people, team approach, successful in their contracts, good reputation.

Ventajas

-free coffee -probably more relaxed than some on-site positions

Desventajas

-Would have listed opportunity to grow as a positive, but organic growth isn't encouraged here. Getting positive feedback from customers is irrelevant if the contract is not a priority for corporate. -There are no development or engineering teams. Rather than offer project centered teams to customers, personnel are thrown around on a seemingly per slot basis. This occurs even when working under the same contract. This makes it difficult to build core competencies and leverage one another. -Lack of communication to the point where it is impossible to communicate problems upstream. Some younger managers seem completely overworked -Merit loses to seniority in all cases I've witnessed. Last hired, first fired is likely, so be prepared to leave when option years expire. -Younger employees are given little to no mentorship. Again, this is a body shop, not a growth oportunity. -There was a seeming lack of DoD program management and engineering knowledge. This made it incredibly difficult to argue resources and scope efforts. Management sells "solutions" in search of problems instead of looking at root causes and understanding the complete picture customer wants to achieve.
