If you are good at managing yourself and your time its good. You don't have a manager or lead breathing down your neck if you do what you say you can do.
Desventajas
Never any pay raises and very crappy health insurance. No career opportunities. A lot of paid time off but you will never get to use it, instead due to very little staffing you are forced to work and forfeit your paid vacation time. Middle management is buried in direct reporting and has no say in anything other than threatening your job and expecting you to unofficially to work off the clock to keep up with the work load. 12 hours of work assigned and you only have 8 hours to get it done. Mileage reimbursement is a joke, they deduct the first 15 miles every day even though your home is the home office. They will only pay $40 on cell phones. Pay nothing for internet services yet pile on tons of administrative work you do on the internet. Corporate can't stand the idea that they actually have to pay you. They have been late several times paying expenses. This organization is going down like the Titanic.
