During the month of June, my colleagues across North America are making a positive impact in their local communities by participating in a volunteering initiative called #MicroFocus Gives Back. Specific efforts include volunteering for book and blood drives, assisting at local food banks, and in one case helping a local Girl Scout troop build and fill a mini library. Did you know that volunteering is a key part of Micro Focus INSPIRE and our commitment to being a socially responsible company? Giving back is also good for our wellbeing, so every Micro Focus employee gets four days a year to volunteer: one for a charity of their choice; one to support our social community impact goal to thrive in our continually evolving digital future; and two to support COVID-19 causes. Our team in Cost Rica supported Earth Day and Beyond, a company-wide initiative to inspire sustainable actions. Our Costa Rica team partnered with local non-profit Friends of a Million Trees Association in a bid to plant 100 trees. The team fundraised to reach their goal to purchase 100 trees to plant in the community. A group of eight colleagues used one of their #MicroFocus #INSPIRE #volunteering days to plant the trees in their local community.
