    Ventajas

Excellent atmosphere to be successful in sales. Competitive internal environment, but in a very positive way. Everyone at Cloudera, from SEs and the Professional Services team to Prod Mgmnt, to C-levels and co-founders all will jump in to assist a customer to be successful. It is the most amazing thing about working here...everyone wants to help. Plus, everyone here is insanely competent. Combine talent and the desire to succeed and you have a winning combination.

The other high point from a sales perspective is the great product we sell. Cloudera helps businesses solve problems that were only dreams 5 years ago. Our product, Cloudera Distribution including Apache Hadoop (CDH) dominates our space with a higher market share than all other Hadoop distributions combined. We didn't luck into this...our product is that much better than Hortonworks, MapR or IBM. We hire or internally develop the highest number of project founders in the Hadoop ecosystem, including the founder of Hadoop, Doug Cutting, which means when we say something is going to happen in our product roadmap, we deliver!!

The final thing I'd add is that customers and prospects are beginning to fully understand the value of their data and need a technology partner who can help them choose the best path forward to success and competitive advantage. We have conversations now that I only dreamed of having during my days with much larger multibillion-dollar ISVs. In the meetings we have now, the excitement in customers eyes is telling as they start to realize the massive power and potential of this new technology. Cloudera is going to be VERY successful for a long time.

    Desventajas

I have been here for multiple years and do not yet have a negative comment to add here.

    Consejos para la Dirección

Tom - you are an awesome CEO. Continue to stay close to the field sales team as we appreciate and respect you.
Mike and Amr - I can't imagine two greater co-founders to work for. Your vision for the market is so highly respected by our customers and prospects that it makes our sales job so much easier. Thank you.

    Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró Más de 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Cloudera (Washington, DC (Estados Unidos)) en abril de 2015.

    Entrevista

I applied and was contacted by two people in recruiting who were not very organized. They both seemed to not know how to take notes or listen well during the phone interview as evidenced by their lack of comprehension to my answers. One of them even asked the same questions more than once and did not know much about the job itself. Well is that not your job? Where do they find people in HR/ recruiting? Aren't these guys the first line of defense to an organization?

I was contacted several weeks later for another set of phone interviews with people in California and the local Washington, D.C. area. While the California interviewer was pleasant and joy to speak with, the three local D.C. interviewers were unprofessional. The first one went off on his past employer (a company I used to work for as well). The 2 people who were supposed to interview me after him didn't even bother to call and were basically virtual no shows. I later found out that they decided to go with another candidate and didn't want to waste my time. The worst part was that they already decided this before the first local guy called me but they didn't tell him either. The young and inexperienced recruiting coordinator (poor guy) was kind enough to tell me this although he probably shouldn't have by HR guidelines. He no longer works for the company- thank goodness for him and his career!
