I have significant experience of the industry and awareness of the kind of work the company is involved in. However, during the interview it seemed that the interviewer treated me as someone completely unaware of their company and tried to oversell their team. The interviewer was cryptic about the actual work and could not even provide an example of a recent project. They only referred to their team as being "innovative" and "bleeding edge" and working on the top-end solutions. For the technical part of the interview, I was asked about very niche details of a specific modelling approach, which I honestly said I had not experience in. When I suggested a different solution to the same problem, was told that the topic I was not familiar with is "common knowledge" and I should read on it before I call myself a Data Scientist. Obviously, the interview process ended pretty much there.
