Ventajas

Thought Machine is a Collaborative, Friendly, Energetic, environment. I feel empowered to do my job, the tools and the support from my team, other teams and management has been great and amazing. Everyone at Thought Machine very helpful and collaborative, it feels like being in a great big family. Social events are great.

Desventajas

To be honest, no such downside - My experience so far has been amazing working at Thought Machine

- There has been significant effort put into hiring talented engineers over the past year and it really shows in how well staffed the infrastructure teams are. This means you will have a good breadth of skills across your team, and strong technical leadership. - The rapid growth in engineering means there is opportunity to grow individually into a technical specialization or a leadership role. - There is a... positive culture towards engineering good solutions, rather than pushing a 'quick fix' out the door. I've always had support from my manager to do things the 'right way'. - Thought Machine works hard to create a welcoming environment for new joiners. Weekly socials, clubs and regular events make you quickly feel part of the team.

Desventajas

- Rapid growth has meant sometimes only a small number of people in the organisation know how something works. This can be a frustrating bottleneck, but is gradually improving.

Ventajas

The challenge we're working on is very of the moment - which means it's exciting, interesting, and with real demand from clients all around the world, which will only increase if we continue to be successful. Thought Machine have a very experienced leadership team and I think this balances nicely with the generally young demographic of the majority of the company. Very strong and inclusive culture - drinking... can be a part of this if you want it to be, however there really isn't any pressure to do so - with regular events aimed at forming bonds across the whole team and meeting people from different parts of the company. The HR department are the best I've ever worked with - a huge amount of time and energy goes into recruiting the right people and then supporting those people to be successful once they're here.

Desventajas

As with any company of this size there are growing pains and that's to be expected. There are definitely peaks and troughs of being busy, as we're doing something new there are frequent ambiguities to navigate, and growth is very rapid - all of which can be disorienting at first. However in this case I genuinely believe it's because the company are responding to the needs of the business and the market, and... giving all of us the best chance of success.

Desventajas

- Serious problems with managing recent fast growth - Big separation between engineering and product side of the company - Some subpar processes introduced recently

- The new Product process is adding great strain and friction in the organisation. It should be reevaulated

* Great social atmosphere * Colleagues have a lot of knowledge in their respective areas (which consists of a wide range of tools, e.g. Go, AWS, GCP, Bash, Python, Terraform etc.) * Colleagues are very open to sharing knowledge and offering help * Lots of interesting work to take part in, get to choose what I want to learn about and work on

Fun, challenging place to work with talented and interesting colleagues. Good level of autonomy in the role and a collaborative atmosphere. Big focus on culture.

Thought Machine has a great open and collaborative culture where people across all teams and functions share the same work ethos and characteristics. Combine this with a highly social place, bright passionate colleagues, a cutting edge product and rapid growth and this makes for a very healthy environment to learn and grow within. I have worked for many years in various industries and company sizes and I wish I had... found Thought Machine sooner!

Sounds like a great company to work with Some very nice people here and really talented people that are going to waste Good office location Theres clubs to do outside of work but, so does every other company.

Desventajas

Putting in a lots of money into something that “might work” and doesnt see much returns back. Lots of fake reviews on here from HR to make the company look like its doing good but simply false when you start working inside People too afraid to raise there concerns as high managements think the company is perfect and needs nothing changed. You need to make a process where staff dont get burnt for raising there... concerns. Team leader is next to useless, just throws you in the deep end, no introductions to meeting new people. Your on your own most of the time. Lots of fake social media posts about the company looking “cool” and hows its diverse when in fact, it doesnt the know the meaning of it. Iam still seeing loads of these posts everyday on Thought Machines social media posts where managers and leaders just throws themselves in these pictures to make them look attractive but when you start to work with them, you wonder how they got the jobs in the first place. If your a new starter and you think this is how the company works, this is what trash looks like from the outside, wait till you start working from the inside. Voluntary events are mandatory. I dont think Thought Machine is aware people havin a life outside of work and wants you to stay inside in the building and doesnt want you to go back to your family. You feel like a caged animal. And its looks bad on you and your pay reviews for pay rise if you dont attend.

Please, stop hiring stupid people in your company in higher management positions. They are wrecking the work flow, they are clueless, they dont know what they are doing. And you wonder why we are not getting funded enough compared to other similar company's who are not going into a second administration? You have the best software engineers, business analyst and testers at your finger tips, its a shame your not... going to see many people stick it out to see what they can really do. If your one those new people looking to join the company, ask load of questions at the careers fair at people who work there and not the recruiters. The recruiter will just butter you up and fool you like they did to me. And dont get desperate because you need a job, theres better alternatives out there in this field of work. And if you do get invited to the open day, dont hold back on your questions to the person dealing with your department. You will start to find cracks and when you do find them, you know if this is the company you want to be working with or not.
