Salary increase was never granted, no matter how much you went above and beyond the call of duty. Manager likes to hide behind HR and won´t fight for you because all mid level managers seem to be selected on one condition: young and malleable so they would do exactly what upper management tells them to do, without using their own brains. After I worked for the company for many years, working evenings and weekends when needed, I was laid off without any word of thanks, simply because my job was to be send to Poland where people are cheap. I think they qualify for worst employer of the year.
