Booking.com does a great job of making employees proud of the brand. You will hear all employees from different offices using the same language and speaking the way that they have been trained. If you feel comfortable working for a huge corporation where there is a specific roadmap for each process this might be the company for you. The company has improved the employee benefits in the last years which was great to see. Booking.com is also a very diverse company, they organize fun events and care about people engagement.
Desventajas
This is a very fast-paced company with a very high volume of work and there is a process to follow for everything so you really need to like working in an environment like that. You will find that sometimes prioritizing the work you have to do is challenging since there are many other things outside your scope of work that you have to do, for example: owning a topic for your office, preparing and hosting meetings, attending meetings and events, office projects, training, etc. If you bring knowledge from previous companies unfortunately that expertise won't be considered too much and you will be seen according to what career level entitles you in the current role you cover. There is a back-to-the-school feel in how the processes are handled. Everything you do is evaluated and tracked and you have to show your team and managers what you did, achieved, or how you contributed every quarter. Targets and KPIs get higher and higher, the best you perform the higher targets you get. At the end of the quarter, your managers will evaluate you and you will have the feeling that what you do is never enough even though you did your best. They have career journeys for each role within the department. If you would like to explore a position from a different department is hard to get there, and they will consider people in higher roles first.
