What does the term RAID mean?

Through questions like this, interviewers are mostly trying to test your skillset (and its relevance to the role) as robustly as possible, so be prepared for multiple offshoots and followups. It could be a useful exercise to do mocks with friends or colleagues in Dell to get a real sense of what the interview is actually like. Alternatively Prepfully has a ton of Dell Client Technical Support Associate experts who provide mock interviews for a pretty reasonable amount. prepfully.com/practice-interviews Menos

Suppose you start up your computer and the motherboard splash screen appears, but it's followed by a black screen with a blinking cursor. What do you think that is, and would you do?

2 respuestas

I would surmise that there is no OS on the system or a hard drive or video card malfunction. I'd reboot the computer and go into BIOS setup. There I would make sure that the harddrives are found and the video card is functional. In most BIOS', the host OS is listed. If all are fine and dandy. Then I would see if there was an onboard vga port I could change the monitor and check that. Menos

Just to add to what Tariq said. To bypass a lot of needless troubleshooting I would check to see if there is a USB flash drive plugged into the computer. If Yes remove and restart! If no see above. Menos

You have an LVM setup like this. You have run out of space on your filesystem, you cannot delete data, and you do not have any more storage devices. Where can you look for more storage space? /dev/sda -> physical volume -> volume group -> logical volume -> filesystem -> /mnt/stuff

2 respuestas

I admitted I didn't really remember the structure of LVM, and that is what this question is about. So we moved on from that. If you do understand LVM it is pretty straight-forward. Menos
