The interview process started in August with a 2 phone interviews. Cleared both and after 3 weeks was called for an in person interview in September. Got excellent feedback post interview and was sure of being shortlisted. a week after the in person interview i got a call from HR saying i have been shortlisted and whether i am ok with the compensation that they had to offer and was also asked to give References. Post this i was waiting to hear from them for almost a month. Every week i did a follow up call and was told that they are yet to take a decision. My 5th follow up call was in October, when i was informed that they decided to go with the other candidate :( Yes i was very disappointed....especially after reaching the last stage.

Very friendly and an overall great process. Interview process wasn't easy but also was reasonable. Just be yourself and show up prepared. I would love to work here If I hadn't gotten a different opportunity closer to home

The interview went well, quite challenging. The panel seems to be quite experienced. It was a lengthy process but I didn't not crack the interview. Be prepared really well, as you would need a bunch of skills to crack this

I applied for the role mid July and a recruiter reached out to me a week or so later. We had our initial phone screen and it went really well. I was notified that I would be moving on to speak with the hiring manager, and that was scheduled the very same week. The hiring manager call went really well and I received positive feedback that I would be moving forward for the final round.
My recruiter coordinated the final round, and sent me an email with the schedule and that was the last communication sent from her dated August 1st. A week + passed by and I had not received any communication following the interviews, and I reached out to the recruiter for an update. A week later she responded stating that they were still “ deliberating over candidates”, and the role was actually reposted during this time.
Ultimately the biggest theme here is an overall lack of communication. To have a candidate waiting for weeks without a singular update or even a rejection after spending time interviewing from start to finish shows the gross power imbalances between candidates and employers. I hope that in the future a better system is in place where recruiters at Yahoo are able to better communicate with candidates. And even if it is a rejection ghosting a candidate is never the answer.
