      Entrevista de Customer Service Representative

      13 may 2010

El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Verizon (Lincoln, NE) en may 2010

      Entrevista

I applied at Verizon on a Thursday and was emailed from them on that following Monday asking me to call them to schedule an interview. I called and scheduled a phone interview for that Wednesday. At 10am I was called and they explained the position to me, salary, and went into detail about all the various needs they have. They asked a few questions such as my computer knowledge, what types of applications I use on my phone, and about my previous experience. They told me they would pass my information along to HR, and call me back if I was a fit. They called me back the next day, and asked me to come in and complete an assessment. I scheduled my assessment for that next Tuesday. I arrived at my assessment which was a 7 part computer assessment. 2 parts the normal, "I am organized- strongly agree" type tests. Then typing, which used both listening and reading paragraphs and typing them, for speed and accuracy. Then mathematical tests where you were to look at a number to the right of the screen, and click a corresponding number to the left that was in a bingo grid with many other numbers. There was also an assessment where you are to listen to calls and direct them to a specific department by clicking on a person with that department title, as you are doing this you are to look at two 7-10 digit numbers and decide if they are the same. This is to test your multi-tasking ability. Then one where you were to study a fictitious company, "servitor" and help various customers. You were to listen to their problems, and then type their member id out from listening, as if you were really their tech support. You then had to listen to their concerns as a member, and select out of 3 responses which would be the best. After my assessment, I was taken into a room, where an HR woman sat down and asked me what I thought of the assessment. She then went through my application and job history and asked me to verify it. I was asked to sign an addendum stating that it was accurate, and add any changes to the addendum. I was asked to come back for a 1:1 interview the next morning. I had a 1:1interview that next day, I was asked the usual, "tell me about a time you had an upset customer" questions. After this interview, she took me on a tour of the place. She asked me if I had 30-45 more minutes and I could have a second 1:1 interview with a supervisor. I told her I would, and she asked me to wait about 15 minutes. I had the second interview right after. I was asked a few of the same questions, including "why verizon?" After that she played several calls and asked me what I thought about how the customer service agent responded. How they owned the call, took responsibility. How I would handle being personally attacked by a customer. There were 4 of these "snip-its", with 2 questions each following it. She then told me that she would pass this to HR and they would respond to me. It has been 1 day, and I have not received any response, so I am awaiting.

Unprofessional interview, and unfair. Being bilingual and many years of customer service experience they decided to pass due to many years of experience. The interviewer also looked unorganized and was bias.
