- Interview with recruiter was great, very personable and excited about the company, which in turn boosted my excitement for the role. It seems like an exciting company to work for, doing really cool things with tech and gaming, as well as AR/virtual worlds.
- Interview with a hiring manager was less engaging unfortunately, and I got the general vibe from their expressions/body language that they were just not interested in my experience or how it could apply to the role. To clarify, I have more than enough experience for the role I applied for.
- More than a few times, the hiring manager told me that they have a lot of other people to interview, and that kind of set the expectation for me that I obviously wouldn't hear anything back from them.
Honestly, it makes an interview very uncomfortable for the candidate when they're told this. I mean, every candidate knows they're not *the only* candidate, but just like you're not *the only* company candidates apply to, you don't need to tell the candidate that in the interview. It's bad form. But I glazed over it with a smile, because I was really excited about the role and company.
- After the call was over, sent my thank-yous and expressed my excitement, etc.
Still haven't heard anything back a month later. No response to my email, no follow-ups provided even to tell me that I'm rejected; I was just completely ghosted.
All in all, not a great interview experience, and I'm completely surprised by that.
