Process was disorganized and haphazard.
I applied online. A few days later, a representative called me up after 6:00 PM (which I found strange), gave a quick and superficial phone screening, then said she'd email a link I could use to schedule an appointment with the hiring manager.
I arrived and the hiring manager was unaware of the appointment. I was told he was on a truck supervising an off-loading of merchandise and I should wait.
Apparently they interview anyone and everyone to see who's available to work some unusual shifts (e.g., starting 4 AM to unload merchandise). Why not ask that over the phone and save someone a trip? After asking me that, the manager read gimmicky "behavioral questions" off a list. That struck me as ridiculous for what amounted to a clerk job.
They don't notify applicants of the outcome. You must log on to the website and check status there. In my case, it simply said, "No longer considered" and nothing more.
For a place that has a reputation as a good place to work, I was very unimpressed by their hiring process.

Tell me about a time you exceeded your supervisor's expectations and the outcome.
Target’s hiring process typically starts with an online application, followed by a HireVue video interview as the preferred screening method. The overall process averages about 14 days from application to offer.

Quick and easy. Just spoke with hiring manager. In and out in 20 minutes. Super friendly, they're just checking to see if you have a pulse and hold a quick conversation
Pretty much need a reference or show up on the right day to get an interview. Seems a little much for the task at hand but overall very simple online interview.

Refer to a time when there was a problem at work, and how did you use teamwork to address it?
