This was one of those interviews where you know more than the person interviewing you. I must have said all the right things because I was invited to skip much of the hiring process after interviewing with 6 people at my first interview. I was not entirely sold on the job and it was kind of a last resort thing for me. Very close to my house so short commute time etc... I decided to do the background check just so I could keep the option on the table in the event that nothing else panned out. The background check was conducted by an outsourced third party who is located somewhere in India. After about a week I was informed that the company was unable to verify a substantive part of my resume, because the previous employers would not disclose the information they were requesting. Also they had mountains of criminal convictions for people with the same first and last name as me. They expected me to do their work for them. Most of the people did not have the same middle name, all had different DoB (most were 20 years older than me) and they all lived in parts of the country where I have never even set foot. Many of them were African American or Hispanic all in all it should have been very easy for a professional company to verify my employment and make the determination that the criminal records were not me. All this to say they are not a professional company. Perhaps if my circumstances were different and I really needed the job, I would have put in the effort and done their job for them but I didn't need the job and informed them as such.
