Solicité el puesto en persona. El proceso duró 3 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Sur La Table en jun 2009

My interview process was very different from what it is today. I walked in, dropped off my app and resume, was called by the manager that day, went in for an interview the next, we chatted on the floor, and I was working a few days later. Now it takes a lot longer because it is all done online and there are a lot more apps to go through due to the fact that folks can just pop themselves into our hiring process through sites like Indeed.com! There is a phone interview, two in-persons, and a background check now, with an at least two-week wait time between putting in your app and starting work.

When I started: what would you buy with a $500 gift card, because I'd only been in the store once before! Currently we have some weird ones that are supposed to test your judgement and creativity and experience...they're all odd!

Super quick and easy! All management levels in the store location were amazing and allowed you to feel comfortable! Definitely helps if you have some knowledge regarding brands and cooking to help customers.

Would I be interested in growing within the company?

The interview is mostly about being yourself and seeing if you want to be part of a foodie minded team of part time co-workers. This group is like friends who work together and all have a common hobby. Just go in and be your genuine self, honest about your experience and availableity and see if what they offer matches what you need.
Lengthy and detailed they were trying to see if I was a good fit. I really wanted to work there but it was only to be closing the store because they were liquidating certain store locations in the east coast
