I had two phone interviews (HR / Gallup, then hiring manager) which went well. When I asked HR what the next steps were, she said she was finding out the hiring manager's availability since the manager was traveling. Then I got an automated rejection notice. WTF?! I think they figured I was too old, since the hiring manager asked "are you sure you want this position? It's entry level" and "you seem to have a lot of experience to be in this position" I have a friend who is a manager at Stryker. She told me that Stryker wants type-A personalities. Basically, answer the questions like you are pompous. So for example, the first one I have listed below is "rate yourself on organization". Don't say 8, say 10. Doesn't matter if you are organized or not. That's how you get to the next round of interviews.

Started with an online technical interview with engineers. Next there was an online personality assessment. The last part of the interview process was an inperson presentation and interview. Ten minute presentation on myself followed by twenty minutes of questions.
