I applied online and a couple days later a recruiter followed up with a Skype screen. We had a great chat and both of us were enthusiastic about my candidacy. He followed up two weeks later to say that the business side hadn't come to any conclusions about next steps. Another two weeks went by and he let me know that there still hadn't been any movement but he would keep me apprised. I received an offer from another company and followed up with the recruiter to see if there was any chance of moving this along so that I could make a decision - his feedback was that I should just take the other offer since they weren't sure when this position would move forwards. I've had other interviews with Spotify for other positions - I admire what they're doing as well as why and how, so I would have liked to be part of the organization. Many of those positions that I've applied for remain open. I can't blame the recruiters - the couple I've talked to tell tales of 13 hour days and overload - their managers, on the other hand are doing a not so great job of feeding their resource bottleneck. On the whole, I'm not so keen on Spotify as an employer anymore. With their interview approval rating hovering around 50% negative, I wouldn't be surprised if this growth spurt they're going through does more harm than good to their culture, reputation, and output.
