Filled out an application online and got called a couple days later for 1-on-1 interview with Sephora inside JCPenney manager.Interview lasted almost 1.5 hours in which the manager mostly described the job responsibilities and spent about 20 minutes asking me questions. Got called back for second interview with store manager. Asked a lot more questions about differences I saw between free standing Sephora stores and Sephoras inside JCP.
Even though it was discussed in both interviews, when they offered me the job and I gave them my start date, they acted like that was a MUCH later date than was discussed and said they had to re-talk it over and get back to me. Didn't hear from either manager for 3 days. When they finally called me back at 5:30pm on day 3 they simply left a message saying they had given the job to someone else AFTER they offered it to me. I don't know if this is common practice but it did rub me the wrong way and left a sour taste in my mouth in regards to Sephora inside JCP.

It was simple but they ask you about your previous experiences and the things you like regarding cosmetics whether its skincare, makeup or haircare.
The hiring managers do want you to talk more and express yourself.
You go in person and tell an employee that you have a scheduled interview. They will get a manager to do so and you will be guided to the back for it. Then, there's a small introduction to break the ice and will proceed with the rest which takes about 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, they call you back in about a week or two to tell you if you've been hired or not.

Interviewer will ask about your past experiences: "why are you interested in this role", "tell me about a time when...". Following the latter, they'll be curious about your problem-solving skills, so how did you/how will you react to a situation. I suggest you read about the position you are getting interviewed for.
Awesome. Really straightforward. Asked cookie cutter questions to get a feel for your general attitude/personality and your ability to handle adversity. If you are going in for an interview, don't over think it.
