I wanted to share feedback about my recent interview experience with Photon on July 19, 2024. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The interview was scheduled on very short notice as they called me on July 16 and asked for an interview on July 17! Upon my request, they rescheduled for July 19, giving me only couple of days to prepare. The interviewer joined the call pretty late, and the technical interview was conducted by a talent acquisition person who lacked the necessary technical knowledge for the role. The interviewer had complications with scheduling and accessing LeetCode. At one point, another person had to be brought onto the call because the interviewer was not able to figure it out. The new person continued with the interview, and the original interviewer dropped off. The coding round included two LeetCode questions. They directly gave me the LeetCode link and asked me to solve them there! The LeetCode questions were not even relevant to the cloud role I was applying for. Even the new interviewer had no knowledge of coding and couldn’t understand my explanations. Despite these issues, I completed one question, and for the other one, I wrote a brute force solution that did not work for a few test cases. I emailed the team asking for feedback a couple of times but didn’t receive any response regarding the interview. I recommend people not to consider applying to such an unethical company.
