I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent interview experience for the Business Development Manager position at Pearson.
When I applied, the job description clearly focused on supporting the publication of Pearson’s products, particularly working with universities and educational partners in my region to promote textbooks, academic publications, and curriculum materials. I prepared thoroughly for the first interview, which aligned well with this scope, and I felt the discussion was productive and relevant.
However, during the second interview, I was surprised to learn that the role seemed to focus more on selling applications and IT infrastructure solutions to universities and the government sector—an area not clearly outlined in the original job description. This change in focus left me unprepared and somewhat confused about the actual expectations of the position.
Additionally, the communication after the interview could have been more timely. I waited over two and a half months to receive any update, which left me unsure about the recruitment process status. I also noticed that the vacancy is still posted on LinkedIn, which adds to the uncertainty about whether the recruitment has been finalized.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to interview with Pearson and hope this feedback is helpful for future recruitment processes. Clearer communication on the role’s focus and more timely updates would greatly enhance the candidate experience.

It was nice and exciting. Though rigorous as it involves like 5 stages from the HR recruiter to hiring manager and then the CEO. In all it was engaging and informative.
