Recruiter will reach out to candidate first and provide a short description of the position. If the candidate is interested they will set you up with an interview (zoom) with the hiring manager.

The hiring manager met with me twice to review my experience, skills and evaluate fit for the job offered. In the first interview, we discussed more of an overview of the department and then we spoke about my professional experiences. In the final interview, we worked through examples of what might come up on the job.

They asked me questions and I replied with answers. They wanted to know about my relevant job experience and skills. I did One phone interview and two in person interviews

This is my experience pre-COVID: 1. Call from hiring manager to set up interview 2. First in-person interview with a panel 3. Second in-person interview: include presentation assignment and interview with leadership in the department 4. Next day got call for an offer contingent on references.

I applied online and a month later the hiring manager called me to schedule an interview. I was taken by surprised because most people would shoot an email first. I went in for an in person interview and the hiring manager was very kind and friendly. Then I was offer a second interview a week later with a faculty member. She was also very friendly and welcoming. I thought both interview went well, but radio silence since the last interview. I wish NYU would at least let their candidates know they are no longer in the running after having two in-person interview.

Interview went wel just prepared to answer along questions based on your resume and what if scenarios. NYU seems like a great place to work and the lady that interview me was awesome.

Email and then 1 phone call. The hiring coordinator reached out to me and we discussed which times were most suitable. It appeared that they had many applicants. I had a pleasant experience with whom I spoke with.

I was invited in via email exchange and had a two hour interview with five different people in the department. I was given information about job and the types of projects the department was working on. Questions were fairly easy and the team made me feel very comfortable. I waited three weeks to hear back after the interview.

I've never written a review on here, but was so frustrated and unimpressed with NYU that I had to write this. Saw a job posted and eventually got a call from a HR rep and scheduled a phone interview. We spoke for close to a hour, she asked all kinds of questions, extremely detailed to the point that it was almost too detailed for a first round interview (such as former bosses names, addresses, contact info, salaries, etc). My impression was that she didn't think I was a perfect fit for the job, and urged me to reach back out to her if I saw other opportunities that looked interesting to me (she even suggested a couple of other jobs that were open to see my interest level). When I never heard anything back after several weeks, I reached back out to her, specifically because I saw other opportunities that looked good as well. A number of emails and phone calls later, spaced out over a period of a few months, with no reply from her. I would say...I get it if you don't think that I'm the right fit for the job, but a) don't make me spend a hour on a phone interview asking extremely detailed past employment questions b) reach out to me to say that I'm not a good fit for the job and/or c) don't tell me to contact you about future opportunities if you have no intention of ever replying.
