First I emailed my resume, then after about two weeks I was called in for an interview where I was give 30 minutes to write an essay. I was given a strip of paper with the subject and a clipboard with paper to write on. Afterwards I waited for the person who I had been talking to via email to read my essay then we met and spoke about and went through my resume and what my daily responsibilitiesat each job was. Then she walked me through the office and showed me what my daily responsibilities would be. It was an overall, hour to hour and a half process. After about two weeks with no word, I emailed her assistant and was told they went with someone who was better experienced.

I submitted my resume and was soon contacted for a brief phone interview. Then I was scheduled for an in-person interview. At the interview I met with someone from the hiring department.

Phone screen, then technical online test, then in person interview with HR, then interview with person you would for, then interview with a panel of people you would work with.

The interview just consisted of availability, interests, and past experience. The interview is with a supervisor and their supervisor. Very relaxed feel. Questions about both cv and cover letter were asked and expected to be elaborated on.

Fairly common interview questions. However a few arbitrary questions that did not have anything to do with the position specifically. Person doing the phone screen also did not have any specifics about the position which was not helpful.

Met with HR, faculty, and other administrators. I first applied online and it took more than a month to hear back from anyone. The process moves very slowly and you have to be able to wait for an offer in order to see the process through.

There were two people in the room and they were very welcoming. Though my nerves got to me, it was mostly self-induced than anything caused by the interviewers themselves. They were also open to talking about their backgrounds and aspirations when asked.

I was emailed to set up an interview, had the interview a few days later by phone because I was out of town and was assured I would personally be notified if I was chosen to go on to the next round or not. It has been weeks and haven't yet received any communication either way, and no response to a polite inquiry. Didn't ask me many questions in the interview mostly told me about the job duties and what they were looking for, but didn't give me much room to respond.

I am a perfect candidate but the interview process is computerized, non personal. In short, unless a human is reading over my resume, I am getting passed by. It is bias. I wasn't given a fair chance and have more experience than the job dictates.

descriptive interview with multiple people: would-be supervisor, HR rep and two department employees. interview lasted roughly an hour. a lot of their administrative jobs are via a temp agency. I was employed by the temp agency and was interviewing to be placed at NYU. I was told that most contracted individuals are hired a few months in. I was hired a bit quicker because the needs of my employment were to access financial records that only an NYU employee could attain. I was only a temp at NYU for approximately one month - a week of which was paperwork that was performed in order to hire me in. once the decision was made to hire me in, I did a phone interview with my supervisor and an HR representative (after applying for the job online).
