    Entrevista

    I interviewed over the phone for this position as I was out of state while applying. The interview process was standard to what I’ve experienced in the past.

    I was offered the position and they jumped right into talking about start date and training. I backtracked and asked about salary. They gave me a number and when I asked them about flexibility the woman I had been speaking to told me she would check on the flexibility of the salary and then get back to me, and then I never heard back - no phone call, no email.

    They offered me the position and when I tried to discuss salary they completely ghosted me, they never even called or emailed me back to let me know that the salary wasn’t negotiable. I was very disappointed with how they handled what is a very standard practice when it comes to hiring and it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth regarding their professionalism and whether I would even want to work for a company that treats potential employees that way.

    Very straight forward process. Spoke to recruiter, she did initial screen.. spoke to a manager he gave run down of what to expect and asked some easy questions.. final interview was a Skype interview

    Everyone who interviewed me was respectful and professional. It was one of the easier interview processes that i had gone through. The whole process took about two weeks and I accepted the offer at the end!

    It went very quickly but was very involved - several phone and skype inverviews with different people. A lot of similar questions throughout. There was also a test to make sure I was qualified to evaluate athletes.

    Entrevista

    Very structured and organized. Designed to get people through the process quickly and efficiently. They have a centralized system and a recruiter of sorts that coordinates interview stages- this works really well. This person was outstanding. The first interview was with a VP by phone. I enjoyed the experience and came away thinking I would like to work for someone like that. He was passionate, respectful and he represented the company very well. I instantly trusted him. However- I had a terrible experience with the second VP on the last portion of the interview process which was through a video conferencing platform called WebEx . From the very beginning I found him to be arrogant and he came across as having an autocratic leadership style . The VP Shared his computer screen to show me a detailed description of the compensation and commission package. However, during that portion I saw multiple internal chat messages pop up in the right hand corner of his computer screen which I presumed must have been the companies internal employee chat feature. I was horrified by the vulgar and derogatory language... because it read as though it was derogatory towards me. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t hide my shock and completely switched off after that. You may want to create a standardized protocol that the employee internal chat feature should be off during any video conferencing calls!!!

I’m very sorry to hear not all of your interviews followed suit though. We completely agree with you that any and all communication outlets be silenced during an interview so that the interviewer is completely focused on you. This behavior is unacceptable and I am currently addressing this with my team.     I applied online and heard back roughly a week later. It was originally a quick 10-minute chat to discuss the job quickly and if I am still interested and from there I was set up with a phone interview that lasted roughly 45 minutes. After the phone interview, I then set up an in-person interview where I was at the company shadowing, touring, and interviewing for an hour.

    I had two phone interviews and one virtual Webex interview. After my first interview with HR, I was scheduled for a longer second phone interview. I waited for 30 minutes for a phone call. I emailed and called the HR resource, emailed the person I was set to interview. No response for about 10 minutes (so now 40 after scheduled time) only to find that they had incorrectly scheduled and had to reschedule. Life happens, I get it. So finally had the 2nd interview. I thought it went great, learned a lot about the company. This led to setting up a 3rd and final interview over WebEx. This started off okay but I continued to get a feeling that this person was trying to sell me OUT of the job. Stating reasons why the job was brutal, unfulfilling and unrewarding. I was confused by this as I would think you would say good things about the job. Following this interview, I had many questions in my head if I should work at NCSA or not. I was told I was going to be contacted by the end of the week for either an offer or not. After 5 days passed that I have not been contacted in any matter. Completely ghosted. I thought I at least deserved the decency to be told no and reasons why. To me, this is worse than breaking up with a significant other over text. At least they texted you. I received nothing after three hour-long interviews and hours of preparation and research on the company. This is just completely unprofessional. I hope they can learn from this and get better.

We do apologize for the first interview blunder and our entire team has made note to pay closer attention to scheduling details in the future. As for your comments about the delay in hearing back from our team, we sincerely apologize for any lack of communication on our part. Its our policy to respond to candidates within 2 days of an interview. Sometimes an unexpected sick day or high volume of interviews can delay that process, and then if you tack that on to a weekend, it can sometimes take up to 5 days to receive a response. I hope you understand its never our intention to ever leave anyone in the dark for too long! We wish you the best of luck in your job search and hope you’ll keep NCSA in mind for future opportunities.

    Their job description is a complete lie. I have over five years of experience in the telecommute environment and after setting up the interview the recruiter claimed “it wasn’t enough.”

    What part about “Entry level” and “No prior experience required” means five years of experience are not enough?

    Furthermore, it is clear the recruiter did not read my application. Instead they decided to waste my time in my job search to set up and conduct a 20 minute interview. The recruiter was hardly able to string together coherent sentences, and was clearly not qualified for any job short of flipping burgers or taking orders. They were unprofessional, unprepared, and underwhelming.

    Lastly, the pay and benefits were nowhere near enough for the hours they were asking for. Don’t wast your time.
