About 2 months after submitting an application online, I was offered via email a 30-minute phone interview with a member from my prospective department. Several days after conducting that, I was offered an on-site interview for the following week. Due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to accept that, so I proposed a later date, which the company accepted.
Upon arriving on-site, I spent about 15 minutes with an HR representative, during which she summarized the company's benefits and asked about my salary expectations. After that I gave a 45-minute presentation to four out of the five people who would later conduct 45-minute 1-on-1 interviews with me and the one person with whom I had lunch (who also, oddly enough, was the same gentleman that phone-screened me). Two of the 1-on-1 interviews focused on my academic knowledge, two focused on my previous work, and one focused on very little. Each interviewer, though, spent a good chunk of time selling the company.
