Got invited to interview and provide time slots, so I gave them. The very next day, I got an automated no-reply email saying that the position got filled. Confused and appalled by this inconsiderate action from the recruiter.
HR said it was a 4-5 part process: 1) 15 minute conversation with HR 2) 30 minute conversation with Service Ops team 3) Take home assignment 4) Presentation & interview 5) Maybe another interview I made it to part 4.

A lot of project management questions, like projects I worked on, how I would collect feedback, etc. I was assigned a take home assignment that I then had to present on. It was with the management and director of that team, and was set for only 30 minutes (which I found ridiculous). As I was about two slides away from finishing, my interviewer cut me off and told me she had seen enough. She asked me one question from there and left me like a minute to ask my own questions. It felt disrespectful to 1) have so little time to get to know each other and 2) cut me off during a presentation saying 'they've seen enough'. This interview was only a half hour, so I felt a lot was missed in just a short period of time. Needless to say I didn't get the job, and honestly think I dodged a bullet. I don't want to be part of a team with management that treats their staff this way.

Interviewing process took a total of 4 weeks from the time I submitted my application. Overall, I would call this a pretty standard interviewing process (see specifics below). I applied for the Strategic Operations Analyst position. If you are a quantitative individual who diligently enjoys building dashboards, and organizing data in a meaningful/logical way and pulling conclusions from said data then this position is not for you. I believe that this position is erroneously described as an “analyst” position, and should be described more-so as an “associate” position. From the interview, I gathered that they are looking for someone who won’t boe running analytics but someone who will constantly reach out and run after different individuals in the company to get things done. I came to this conclusion after being asked multiple times “If you need to reach me and I can’t be reached, how would approach to make sure that what you need to convey gets through to me?” What kind of question is that? Needless to say, I lost interest in the position halfway through the interviewing process. I’m not sure they even know what they’re looking for. But I do know one thing: they are looking for someone who doesn’t mind not having any defined responsibilities but can do it all on a sub-par salary.
1. HR screening interview call - 30 minutes
Straightforward call where you go over your past career experiences. Some of the questions asked were:
- Tell me about yourself.
- What attracted you to this position?
- Discussed salary range
2. Hiring Manager video interview - 30 minutes
Again, pretty straightforward, standard interview questions where you mainly go over your past career experiences. Some of the questions asked were:
- Why are you applying to this position now?
- Why Cohere?
3. Case Study - 1 hour 15 minutes
HR sends Case Study on the day of, specifically, 1 hour and 15 minutes before you present findings to the team. This is more about how you approach problems and the way you solve them.
4. Followed by panel presentation - 30 minutes
This step follows the Case Study immediately. You are asked to go over your work and explain your reasoning.
5. Total of 5 series of 30-minute interviews with various members of the Operations team (mostly two-on-ones and an one-on-one with the Director of People). Questions ranged from career experience to hypothetical scenarios of “what would you do if we are looking for a vendor? How would you go about finding one?”
