Entrevista
I was initially contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen. Then, I was directed to take two online assessments. First was a test of work preferences and styles. After that was a math assessment. Most of the math assessment consisted of percentage calculations or graph comprehension questions. The day after I took the online assessments, the recruiter contacted me and set me up for the "power day" in Richmond. Power Day consisted of 2 behavioral interviews and 3 case interviews. We also had lunch at one of the on-site cafeterias with two other COF individuals. This was more of a time where the candidates could ask questions. There was very little time left at the end of case interviews to ask questions....though I did have some time to ask questions during the behavioral interviews.
All interviewers were very nice and helpful during the case interviews. If you ask questions, they are more than willing to help make sure you stay on the right path.

Case interviews centered around business strategy, profitability, & breakeven points. My three questions revolved around CC insurance, Customer Service Outsourcing, and a University CC program.

Must answer 2 case studies and 2 behavioral type interviews. Met with 4 different people. You stay in a small room and they come to you. After all the interviews you go to lunch with someone on the team and if you pass then you get a final interview with the hiring mgr.

1) Starts with a two part online assessment with a mathematical analysis on a small business case, not timed but they want you to finish as quick as you can. Followed up by a questionnaire assessing your cultural fit.
2) Phone screening with a recruiter where you go over the basics: Experience, why CapOne, salary expectations, etc.
3) “Power Day” with two behavioral interviews and 2 case studies that will last 4 hours. They outline what to expect for both. Behavioral was STAR format and case studies were about P&L/Break-Even and Interest Rates where you have to think out loud through your thought processes.
4) Final stage is really a formality where you would have a quick convo with the potential hiring manager.
Overall, it’s a long, cumbersome process and it’ll really make you evaluate whether you want to be apart of CapOne(not in a bad way).

Phone screen with recruiter, make sure you qualify for the position. Then "Power Day" - 2 behavioral interviews and 2 case study interviews. The behavioral interviews are 45 minutes each and the case studies are an hour. I passed one case study, but not the other (started out well, but then struggled halfway through). Did not get an offer. Afterwards, the recruiter told me in so many words that I did not pass one of the cases so that's basically why I didn't get the job. So the case studies seem to have more weight than the behaviorals.
