The interview process for the MFT position was structured to evaluate both my technical expertise in Managed File Transfer tools and my ability to troubleshoot, coordinate, and support enterprise-level file transfer environments. During the technical round, the panel assessed my hands-on knowledge of MFT tools such as IBM Sterling File Gateway/SFG, Sterling Integrator/SI, Connect:Direct, and related protocols like SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and AS2. I was asked to explain configurations, partner setups, file routing, troubleshooting steps, monitoring techniques, and incident management scenarios. The discussion also covered log analysis, certificate management, and understanding of workflows and business processes.
