Title: Interview Process Did Not Allow Meaningful Evaluation of Experience
I recently participated in the interview process for a senior architecture role at Capco. While the recruiter and coordination process were professional, the overall interview experience was disappointing.
I was looking forward to discussing my background, technical expertise, and nearly 20 years of experience in data, cloud, and enterprise architecture. However, the discussion with the hiring manager/interviewer concluded in approximately 10 minutes, which did not provide sufficient opportunity to meaningfully explore my experience, leadership capabilities, or technical qualifications.
Based on the limited interaction, I felt the interview process did not allow for a comprehensive assessment of my skills or potential fit for the role. As a result, I decided to pursue another opportunity where the interview process involved more in-depth discussions and a thorough evaluation of candidates.
Pros:
* Professional recruiter and interview coordination
* Efficient scheduling process
* Positive initial communication
Cons:
* Very brief technical discussion
* Limited opportunity to demonstrate experience and expertise
* Interview process did not appear structured for evaluating senior-level candidates comprehensively
Advice to Management:
For senior and leadership-level roles, consider allowing sufficient time for candidates to discuss their experience, architectural thinking, leadership approach, and business impact. A more comprehensive conversation would likely lead to a better evaluation experience for both candidates and interviewers.
