After the initial online application, I was invited to a prerecorded interview, where you answer up to 5 questions. If successful you are invited to a live interview, on zoom. If successful after this, you will invited to a hiring event. In my case, due to covid, the process ended here. But the overall experience with Backroads during the application process was pleasant.

The process is long, tedious, and ends with a multi-hour group interview on Zoom to solve work scenarios. I made it to the final step, but was rejected after wasting a lot of time over a 2 months period. Their email communication was not very transparent, late, and the final feedback made no sense, they claimed I lacked experience and leadership, completely ignoring my years of work as a professional hiking and biking guide and logistics specialist for another tour operator. The whole system favors people who tries to show off during a video call instead of looking at real field experience
