The process was long. A good amount of time passed between communication. I'd applied in August; there was a phone screening with the HR rep in late September, several weeks later there was a phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by an in-person interview with 5 individuals. The individuals included in the "panel" were tangential individuals which the role interacted as well as direct team members. . After this there was zero communication; ultimately I was notified that another candidate was pursued in December via an automated communication. This is not an issue in my mine; however, the ANSYS HR rep repeatedly assured this would be a "personal"interaction and he would follow to provide feedback around the my interview. This was not the case.

Technical question around currency. Nothing major, worded terribly...

Disorganized. I did my best to qualify the process from the onset. But, false expectations were set and I trusted that I was given accurate info.
I removed myself after the timeline/ process changed several times...and then nobody could ever tell me the decision date or next steps with any degree of certainty. Not even the decision-maker. (mind you- it had been the 6 weeks + 2 onsites (one 1/2 day via panel), a presentation (over 50 hours of work and prep). I understand that organizations are complex. However, there is no reason to give people the run-around. A little professional courtesy isn't too much to ask for.
I came to the interview excited and extremely prepared, (having invested over 50 hours creating a presentation and researching the company), it's only fair to ask for professionalism in return.
I was put off by the total lack of transparency and poor communication. But, what annoys me the most is that that the company was so frivolous with my time.
Rant aside - I met several people and everybody was really nice. I don't doubt that it's a good place to work. It's just hard to stay excited through a broken hiring process.

7 or 8 different people involved. I thought the questions they asked were really very fair, thought-provoking, relevant, etc. I enjoyed the actual interview. HR asked somewhat predictable questions (behavioral)
